Vista won't load after XP re-install on dual boot system
I tried to load both of them by vxworks bootloader, which I used to load vxworks image, but neither of them has been successful. How can I change *.gz or uncompressed file to ELF file? While you can do it, it is probably not what you want. See comments above for the correct way to get the compressed ELF version

The boot loader is different of that of the Windows 2000/XP and thus I can't change the boot loading scheme from msconfig from Windows XP. I can manually delete the files (Windows Vista folders&files) from the second partition

The Win booters also have the capability to boot other operating systems (see boot.ini pre-Vista). Yes. But not the answer to quite the question as was asked. Your only possible option is to see if your BIOS will let you choose which disk drive to boot from. Unfortunately, changing this regularly will be an issue.

VistaBootPro will only modify the settings of the Vista bootloader. Vista's bootloader will give you a choice when you turn on your computer which operating system to boot to. Right so I install Vista to F: then run Vista Boot pro to change to boot loader ?? Is it that simple ?? Thanks Marcus.

If done properly, when using Vista to access the Boot.ini file on the XP drive should require a permission change to modify. Installed Vista on a seperate partion so I could multiboot VISTA/XP. Vista boot loader gives me two options, VISTA or Legacy. Vista boots ok but if I try Legacy (XP) it won't boot.

Under "Operating Systems" delete ONLY the line that contains the Vista information. If Vista is set as the default OS to boot under "Boot Loader", change the line to match everything before the equal (=) sign on the XP line. You should be left with similar to below.
